Consultation
Start with a consultation.
Every person arrives with a different story, body, condition, history, and relationship to movement. The consultation is a chance for Shawn to understand where you are now, what you are experiencing, and what kind of support may make sense.
It is also a chance for you to meet Shawn, ask questions, and decide whether RolandLab feels like the right fit.
A first conversation, not a commitment.
The consultation is not about rushing you into a program. It is an opportunity to slow down, understand your current needs, and talk through what kind of movement support may be appropriate.
You can share what has changed, what you are hoping to improve, what feels uncertain, and what you want Shawn to understand before any coaching begins.
Understanding where you are now.
Before starting movement coaching, Shawn will want to understand the person, not just the condition.
This may include your current movement challenges, diagnosis or injury history if relevant, balance, gait, coordination, strength, confidence, emotional relationship with movement, current support, and goals for daily life.
What movement challenges are you experiencing?
Has there been a diagnosis, injury, or change in function?
What feels harder, slower, less steady, or less predictable?
What are you hoping to improve, understand, or rebuild?
What kind of support have you already tried?
What would feeling more confident in your body mean for you?
Primarily in-person, with flexibility when appropriate.
RolandLab is primarily built around in-person movement coaching. Shawn’s work depends on observation, relationship, movement detail, and the ability to understand how a person organizes movement in real time.
Depending on the situation, Shawn may be able to travel. Remote support may be possible in select circumstances, but the main focus is in-person coaching.
Clear about the work.
Shawn is not a physiotherapist or medical provider. RolandLab does not diagnose, treat, or replace medical care.
RolandLab offers integrated movement coaching, movement education, and training support designed to complement each person’s broader care, goals, and lived experience.
